Meet the newest addition to our fish collection - the Atlantic Cod Fish! Anf oh... what a history.

The Cod fish industry built empires, nations, cities (think Boston) and great wealth through our long history of cod fishing. Fishermen reached the shores of North America long before Columbus, not to discover land, but to fish for Cod!

Dried salted cod kept the world fed for hundreds of years. Once salted, it would keep for a long time and only needed soaking to prepare it to be eaten. Salting preserves. But salting is not so much as adding salt but removing moisture from the cells of the fish so bacteria can't grow. Salt cod is still enjoyed in many countries all over the world.

Our cod fish is a recycled paper sculpture and mounted on a piece of recycled barn wood. The wood is a deep blue color. The cod fish is about 16 inches and the total width is 19 inches.
